Sicily is a truly magical island. Its people are fiercely proud and will often tell you they’re Sicilian first and Italian second. To us, it feels like a country within a country. Palermo, Taormina, Noto, and Syracuse capture the beauty, history, vibrancy, and all that we love about the island's towns and cities. When we tour here, we focus on culture, history, food, and wine. They’ve been making wine for over 3,000 years, thanks to the Greeks, Romans, and Phoenicians who planted vines throughout the centuries.

Our journey into Sicilian wine took on a new dimension when we first met Francesca Planeta—a wonderful and charismatic woman who, together with her family, manages a very fine collection of wineries. The family’s pedigree has been centuries in the making. They acquired their first estate at Ulmo in 1694, and seventeen generations later, their voyage in Sicily has continued from Menfi to Vittoria, from Noto to Etna, and Capo Milazzo.

According to the French, they’ll tell you they invented nearly all that is good in the world - wine, cheese, perfume, fashion, foie gras, and don’t forget frogs’ legs too. France is a special country, and we enjoy a touch of French luxury, especially their private châteaux, bespoke wine tastings in Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Champagne, dining in Paris, Marseille, and Nice, and having access to the finest experiences the French Riviera has to offer. We always include Monte Carlo, with a night or two at the Hôtel de Paris.
