Sicily - This is a truly magical island where their people are fiercely proud and will tell you they’re Sicilian first and Italian second, to us it’s a country within a country! Palermo, Taormina, Noto, and Syracuse capture the beauty, history, vibrancy and all that we love so much of this island towns and cities. When we tour here, we focus on the culture, history, food and wine, they’ve been making it for the past 3000 years thanks to the Greeks, Romans and Phoenicians planting vines throughout the centuries. Our journey into Sicilian wine took on a new dimension when we first met Francesca Planeta, a wonderful and charismatic lady, who with the family, manage a very fine collection of wineries. 

The family’s pedigree has been centuries in the making, they acquired their first estate at Ulmo in 1694 and seventeen generations later their voyage in Sicily has continued from Menfi to Vittoria, from Noto to Etna and Capo Milazzo. 

According to the French, they’ll tell you they invented nearly all that is good in the world, wine, cheese, perfume, fashion, Foie gras and don’t forget frogs’ legs too. France is a special country, and we like a bit of French luxury, especially their private châteaux, bespoke wine tastings in Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne, dining in Paris, Marseilles and Nice and having access to the finest that the French Riviera has to offer. We always take in Monte Carlo with a night or two in the Hotel De Paris. So, let us create an unforgettable journey through this great country and its esteemed neighbour Monaco next door.

This is a country with so much to offer the visitor and as with every country in Europe, the history is rich and the culture unique.
